2007 SEMA Product Showcase Photos by Henry, Glenn & Jorgen Moller Mike and Carlos (of Saleen) both had their daily drivers there at the show. Yes, they both drive pretty pimped out 500 HP / 11 second Mustangs :-)
In addition to the Saleen S7 seats we showed you a few months back in Carlos' ride, there are a few other items hitting the Speedlab catalogs, namely a full iPod intergration kit and an incredible shaker / Ram air supercharger.
Saleen Speedlab Releases their new Shaker / Ram Air SUPERCHARGER !
What you are looking at is an actial Supercharger / Ram Air, talk about a direct injection of air into your engine ! We will be getting a sound clip posted up soon, because this is probably the best sounding blower we've heard. The direct path into the blower , then to the outside world REALLY makes this supercharger sound incredible, you can hear the supercharger whine like whoa standing on the curb.
The new high flow cast aluminum inlet top has a larger cross sectional area, an improved bend radius, and a shorter path creating virtually no restriction. It also has a larger throttle body flange opening to accomodate a larger OEM and aftermarket throttle bodies. The injection molded lower air box features and enormous 115mm mass air flow sensor, capable of supporting huge HP numbers. The high flow green air filter boasts %50% more area than the standard air panel filter. All of these items prodide a huge advantage in reducing the vacuum before the supercharger. The big story however, is the ram-air scoop sticking out of the hood. By moving the intake outside the engine compartment and up into the air stream running over the car, Saleen was able to actually pressureize the air coming into the intake. Testing has yielded pressures or .25 PSI at 80 mph. Aditionally this is pure cold air comin into the engine. Saleen's full ipod intergration kit worked great, access your entire ipod from the OEM stock radio controls, shuffle, fwd, rewind, pause, etc... (and similar to how you navigate the iPod itself, via either album, artist, etc). Also works with iPhone, and the other iPod models from apple
In case you wre wondering, yes, thats carbon fiber, masked off to prove it during painting.
